In the event that VPC makes the decision to discontinue production of or to obsolete a product or product family, every attempt is made to contact the historical purchasers of the product(s) and provide them with notice of this event. This notice contains the product part number(s) impacted and the date that purchase of the product(s) will no longer be possible. In some cases, a last time/ final buy opportunity will be offered for a limited time. If a replacement product(s) is recommended, which may or may not be backwards compatible, it will also be listed in the notice.
VPC makes every attempt to contact and provide notice to those customers impacted by the discontinuation of a product(s). However, successful notification is limited to the current accuracy of contact information made available at the time of the original product purchase. VPC is not liable for unsuccessful attempts or failure to contact product users that are impacted by the discontinued production or obsolescence of a product or product family.
VPC does not make the decision to discontinue or obsolete products often, and in most cases, the decision to do so is done with the best interest of the customer in mind. Typically, the decision is made based on a limited or discontinued availability of the materials needed by VPC to manufacture a part, which makes VPC's production impossible, or simply not cost-effective for either VPC or the customer. In other cases, VPC may choose to terminate the production of a product(s) because a newer VPC product has been developed that offers better technology and performance.
